2×4 Sofa – Ana White Design

When we moved into our house, there were so many ideas swarming on how we could make our home uniquely ours. Our first priority was our outdoor living space. We love enjoying our time outside and were lucky to find a home with a good sized back patio. After scouring the stores for furniture that we both liked, we came to the conclusion, let’s just build it!

When we lived in our apartment, we had an oversized sofa on our patio. It was a VERY minimalist design utilizing cinder blocks, plywood and a foam pad from JoAnne Fabrics. We liked the simplicity and it was comfortable so we were in the market to something similar.

So off to Pinterest we went! That’s when we found the amazingly talented Ana White. Our build wish list has grown quite a bit with projects we have found on her site. We’ve already built two different projects and they way she explains makes it super easy!

We selected the 2×4 Outdoor Sofa. This plan was super simple from start to finish. The plan includes supply list, tool list, cut list and a step-by-step guide on how to assemble.

We finished off this piece with Rust-Oleum Ultimate Wood Stain in Ebony and added a polyurethane top coat to help with weathering. Additionally we recovered the pillows form the apartment to ad a splash of color to the back yard that would help enhance the landscaping!
